During the recession of 2008, with the Obama campaign as a backdrop, a sudden job loss forces an upper-middle class African American family to consider selling their cherished Long Island vacation home, which represents their family heritage. They wrestle with internalized racism, class anxiety, and each other as a revelation about their shared past upends their comfortable lives.
